What is the Village Home Rivers Day Program?
Happy learning happens here. In Rivers, learners are academically and socially engaged, and inspired to take ownership of their learning. This program is designed for homeschooling families looking for a classroom community part-time.
The Village Home Day Program enters our 5th year in Fall 2020/21 with multiple cohorts in Beaverton.
To join Rivers, submit an application, pay the Application Fee, and then schedule an interview. After the interview a class visitation may be arranged with the instructor. Upon acceptance a 10% deposit will is required to hold the spot in the cohort.
Please note, this is NOT designed to be a comprehensive program — it is part-time only.

Overview
Two-Day Option, Monday and Friday, Beaverton Campus, 5150 SW Watson
Ages 5 – 7, Instructor – Shannon Reilly
Ages 8 – 9, Instructor – Emily Souther
Ages 10 – 11, Instructor – Aimee SharpMeets 33 weeks a year, from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm with optional 8:30 am drop-off. Optional 1 pm pick-up for Ages 5-7 only.

Typical Rivers Day
Each day will have a schedule that includes some free exploration time, some guided group learning opportunities, some individualized online learning, group project-based learning, and some independent work. We maintain our commitment to making learning fun and engaging, while also holding a high expectation for participation. We are applying over 13 years of experience with facilitating learning engagement to design this program to be a learner-friendly approach to education, with developmentally appropriate academic and social opportunities that support learner autonomy.

Who Is Rivers For?
Families who value high quality educational opportunities as much as learner autonomy, and who are seeking academic and social enrichment on a part-time basis for their children. In the Village Home Day program, the parent is still seen as the student’s primary educator. Because this is a cohort-based program, learners in the program need to be functioning academically, socially, and emotionally at or above their grade level.

APPLICATION FEE (non-refundable): $60
TUITION
Two days a week (Mon & Fri 9:00 am – 3:30 pm, Beaverton): $3,500/year
10% non-refundable deposit to secure spot for 2020/21
Monthly Payment Plan and 10% Sibling Discount Available.
No Financial Aid at this time.
How Do I Apply?
- Learn: Read through the information on this page, then email dayprogram@villagehome.org with any questions, or apply now. We will be happy to briefly chat about the program and how it may serve your child.
- Apply: CLICK HERE
- Interview: A member of the staff will set up an interview time for you and your child. There is an Application Fee that must be paid prior to the interview being scheduled ($60, nonfundable).
- Visit: set up a visit to the classroom, if possible (classroom visits are not always possible)
- Admission Decision: An admission decision will be emailed to you.
- Deposit and Contract: A non refundable deposit is due with a signed contract within two weeks to hold your spot.
Participating in Village Home Classes
Rivers families have priority registration and can register for a la carte classes on other days at the regular per-class tuition rate. Village Home rules about unattended children on campus (must be in a class, have a parent on campus, or have a gap exception) apply.

Since 2002, Village Home has been providing a new model of education for 21st-century home-based learners in preschool through high school. At the core of our approach is the belief that learning is a natural, inherently enjoyable process when learners are empowered to make education choices with their families. Our caring teachers create a collaborative, fun-filled, grade-free environment where the focus is on real learning rather than test performance.
