Class tuition base price is $110 for 10 hours of instruction. Preschool starts at only $9/hour of instruction. Some classes like lab science, art, and technology classes may cost more due to material fees required to provide a high-caliber learning experience. Clubs, which tend to be more social in nature, start at $25 and are led by volunteer parents. Financial Aid may be applied to class tuition and clubs.
Materials & Book Fees
Materials fees are typically added to science, tech, and art classes ($5 – $20) to cover class-specific supplies or to cover the cost of a required text that is purchased on your behalf. In some cases, we will include an Amazon product link in the description and instruct you to purchase the text or product directly and bring it the first day of class.
Earn Discounts with Our Community Volunteer Program
To offer low tuition rates, we rely on community volunteerism. Every family is welcome to volunteer, but is not required. We have a variety of tasks for volunteers to do at Village Home: from classroom assistants with a weekly commitment to one-time, short tasks. There is a way for everyone to be involved and help co-create our community. Our volunteers have the opportunity to earn credit to spend on Village Home merchandise or use as tuition reductions.
Refund Policy
There is a two week Add/Drop period at the beginning of the FALL term. Tuition refunds are available when classes are dropped before 5 pm the day of the second class meeting. After the Add/Drop period, there are no tuition refunds. (Book, material, and lab fees may not be refundable.) If your student misses a class, or is asked to leave a class because of disciplinary reasons, there is no refund. If a class is cancelled, you receive a refund. In the Winter and Spring Terms, the Add/Drop period is ONE week; classes must be dropped before 5 pm the day of the first class meeting.
Payment Options
Tuition and fees for each term may be paid by credit card, cash, or check. Installment plans are available. We will also accept payment from several different charter schools. Families are responsible for sending their Village Home statement to their charter for the school to pay, or paying with your pre-paid debit card. If you are unsure how your charter school handles billing, please reach out to your charter guide.
Ways to Save on Tuition
We strive to keep tuition affordable. Here are some ways to save:
- Refer a friend. Earn $20 off a class if you refer a friend who signs up for the first time with Village Home for at least one class (does not apply to clubs). Then, you stop by the office to claim your $20 off coupon (credit) after the add/drop period.
- Apply for Financial Aid. We disburse over $30,000 a year in financial aid to families who qualify. See the Financial Aid (link to sub page) page for details.
- Participate in our Volunteer Program (link to sub page) and earn CLAMS to use toward tuition.
